Chapter 5 - A Solo Venture into the Nether Sect

The night was dark with strong winds, and ominous clouds loomed overhead. The main gate of the Nether Sect was shattered, and the bodies of two disciples were flung out, covered in blood.

Entering the gate was Wuxi Pavilion of the Nether Sect, guarded by the four iron-masked men. Three days ago, Luo Wanchun had spent an hour defeating them. Today, with a single stroke, she decapitated all four.

Beyond Wuxi Pavilion lay the Feiyin Court. Back then, the secluded small courtyard where Luo Wanchun and her companions lived was just a corner of the vast Feiyin Court.

They were like frogs at the bottom of a well, unable to see the entirety of Feiyin Court.

Feiyin Court was guarded by a single woman. Despite defeating the four iron-masked men three days prior, Luo Wanchun, burdened with injuries, was defeated by Lady Che of Feiyin Court.

Lady Che unleashed tens of thousands of flying knives, each laced with deadly poison, capable of killing with even the slightest scratch.

With one stroke, Luo Wanchun shattered the multitude of flying knives. With a second stroke, she killed hundreds of low-level assassins. By the third stroke, Lady Che lay lifeless on the ground.

Before collapsing, Lady Che’s eyes were wide with disbelief, her death unappeased.

With three strokes, Luo Wanchun emerged from Feiyin Court and entered Tombwood Forest.

Tombwood Forest, a place for training assassins, was where Luo Wanchun endured inhumane training to become a qualified assassin.

Thinking of this, Luo Wanchun couldn’t help but find it laughable. She had survived the relentless training through sheer will, considering this place her home, encouraged by her kin-like relation, Zhuohua.

But now, in hindsight, she realized how foolish and pitiful she had been.

Luo Wanchun’s eyes suddenly sharpened as she swung the Zhuhua Sword. Where the blade struck, trees fell and illusions dissipated.

Tombwood Forest was filled with traps, reportedly guarded by a retired master of traps.

Everywhere Luo Wanchun tread turned to flat ground. The traps and illusions were now ineffective.

Just as the exit came into view, an old voice echoed from an unknown location.

“Little girl, why such bloodlust?”

Luo Wanchun halted, her blue dress stained with blood, and replied coldly, “Who are you, senior? Why not show yourself for a chat?”

Inside the Drunken Breeze Pavilion, an urgent report was delivered.

“Sect Leader, we have a problem!”

Yan Zixu was leisurely sipping tea, oblivious to the impending disaster.

“Why the rush? What’s the matter?”

“Leader! Luo Wanchun has broken in!”

Yan Zixu sneered at the mention of Luo Wanchun, “Let her come then. If she wants to die, why are you panicking?”

The subordinate continued, “Leader, she has already broken into Tombwood Forest!”

Yan Zixu jumped up in shock, his previous calm demeanor vanishing completely.

“What! How is that possible? What about the four iron faces? And Lady Che?”

The subordinate replied, “Luo Wanchun killed the four iron faces with one stroke, and dispatched Lady Che with three strokes. She’s now in Tombwood Forest and will be here any moment.”

Yan Zixu tried to maintain composure, “How could she become so powerful in just three days?”

He silently prayed that Old Man Jin in Tombwood Forest could kill her.

“Hahaha, I’ve been in this forest for who knows how many years. Little darling, I’ve seen you before.”

“You’ve seen me, but I haven’t seen you.”

Old Man Jin sighed, “There’s nothing worth seeing in an old man about to enter his grave.”

Luo Wanchun, impatient, said, “If you’re so close to the grave, then enjoy the remaining time you have left and stay out of other people’s business.”

She started to leave the forest, but the old man said in disappointment, “Such ingratitude. Do you think you could’ve escaped the Nether Sect without my guidance back then?”

Luo Wanchun stopped, frowning, and turned to ask, “You were the one who showed us the way out back then?”

The night Luo Wanchun planned to take Zhuohua away, a mysterious person had guided them, helping them evade the guards precisely. At the time, they were in too much of a hurry to think about it, but now it made sense…

Luo Wanchun respectfully bowed toward the forest, “Thank you, senior, for your guidance. Today, I only wish to take my older sister with me. I have no intention of harming anyone. If you let me pass, I will be deeply grateful.”

Old Man Jin sighed with compassion, “You sisters have a hard fate. Your older sister has not been living well here. Go ahead, take her away and leave this place forever.”

Luo Wanchun asked, “What about you, senior?”

The old man laughed heartily, “Don’t worry about me. The people of the Nether Sect can’t do anything to me. I’m just borrowing this place to live. If I don’t like it here, I’ll move. Go on, take your older sister with you.”

Luo Wanchun clasped her fists and bowed, “Thank you, senior!”

Without shedding more blood, Luo Wanchun left Tombwood Forest and finally arrived at the Drunken Breeze Pavilion.
