Ling Tai Fang Cun Mountain is a location in “Journey to the West,” situated in the Western Continent of Cattle-gift. The reclusive sage, Patriarch Bodhi, resides in the Cave of the Three Stars in the Slanting Moon on this mountain. Patriarch Bodhi is Sun Wukong’s mentor, who gave Sun Wukong his Dharma name and taught him the Somersault Cloud and Seventy-two transformations. Ling Tai Fang Cun Mountain is located in present-day Lingtai County, Gansu Province. The mountain is also known as Gaozhi Mountain and stands alongside the AAAA-rated Lingtai Jing Mountain Park. From a distance, it appears as a solitary peak with a round, elegant shape and unique style. The mountain is home to the Shadowless Tree, and the “Lone Peak at Noon” is one of the eight scenic views of Lingtai. According to folklore, this mountain is where Sun Wukong learned his skills in “Journey to the West.”
