The Six Monsters of Mei Mountain(梅山六怪):

The six brothers of Mei Mountain are a group of characters in the classic Chinese mythical novel “Journey to the West.”

They serve as assistants to Erlang Shen, the Manifestation of the Sacred Erlang, comprising six Immortals: Kang, Zhang, Yao, and Li Taiwei, and Guo Shen and Zhi Jian, who are generals.

Originally, the Mei Mountain brothers were seven, known as the Seven Saints of Mei Mountain. In Yuan dynasty dramas such as “Erlang Shen Locks the Great Sage,” they were called the Seven Saints of Mei Mountain and were subordinates of Erlang Shen. In “Journey to the West,” they were changed to the Six Brothers of Mei Mountain, with Erlang Shen added to the group of saints, henceforth known as the “Seven Saints” after forming a sworn brotherhood with Erlang Shen.

In the game “Black Myth: Wukong,” the Six Monsters of Mei Mountain are based on the Seven Monsters of Mei Mountain from “Investiture of the Gods.”

In the game, five of these characters appear: Chang Hao, the Scholar in White (Snake Spirit), Zhu Zizhen (Pig Spirit), Cui Yangxian (Sheep Spirit), Wu Long (Centipede Spirit), and Jin Dasheng (Ox Spirit).

“Black Myth: Wukong” features only five of the original Seven Monsters of Mei Mountain, with Yuan Hong (White Ape Spirit) and Dai Li (Dog Spirit) not appearing in the game.
