Twin Generals of Turtle and Snake(龟蛇二将):
In Chinese, it is pronounced as: guī shé èr jiàng,Written as:

The Twin Generals of Turtle and Snake were born from the transformation of the visceral organs of the True Martial Great Emperor, serving as celestial gatekeepers. Legend has it that while the True Martial Great Emperor was practicing asceticism at the Nanyan Palace on Wudang Mountain, he endured the hardships of the mortal world, quenching his thirst with spring water and staving off hunger with pine nuts and Bletilla striata (a herbaceous plant used in traditional Chinese medicine).
Local folklore recounts that the True Martial Great Emperor consumed all the Bletilla striata on the mountain during his spiritual practice, yet his hunger remained insatiable. Overwhelmed by starvation and frustration, he, in a moment of desperation, yanked out his growling stomach and intestines and threw them at the base of the mountain, then continued his austere cultivation. Unexpectedly, these discarded organs later transformed into a large turtle and a large snake. After the True Martial Great Emperor achieved enlightenment and ascended to immortality, the turtle and snake were also endowed with divine essence. The tale of “the True Martial’s entrails becoming the turtle and snake” has been passed down to this day.
Due to their original forms being the water and fire demons, the Twin Generals are also known as the “Water and Fire Generals.” Taoism proclaims that the True Martial Great Emperor was originally the crown prince of the Pure Dynasty and an incarnation of either the Primordial Being or the Jade Emperor. The turtle and snake were demons subdued and transformed by the True Martial Great Emperor. From then on, the story of the Twin Generals of Turtle and Snake became a part of Chinese folklore.
